A Late Indian Summer

IMG_0202.JPG
Indian Summer Thanksgiving on the lakeside.

This year, unlike last year, we are having a genuine Indian Summer, when a spell of warm weather follows a frost. In this case, we had a month of frost in an unseasonably cold, wet October. Sunny days were rare and the foliage was a big disappointment. The weather in Cleveland is never anything to brag about, but we can usually rely on a nice October. Not this year.

We took advantage of the warm weather over Thanksgiving weekend to clear out the last of ten trees’ worth of leaves in my backyard. These aren’t wimpy, new trees, either. They are tall, leafy maples that blanketed my backyard like a crispy, brown snowfall. But, you won’t hear me complain even though I was a little stiff and bruised from the labor. If I have to do yard work, it means I have a yard.

The holiday season seems to begin earlier every year. I went to the grocery store today and the muzak was chirping some jazzy Christmas music. The ornaments, lights and cheesy paraphernalia were all on display, and the only thing missing was the Salvation Army Santa Claus. The thrust into the holiday trimmings felt rather odd when it was 60 degrees outside. This must be what it’s like to live in Florida. Without blizzards, bad drivers, slippery streets and lung-burning cold, I can’t quite get into that true Cleveland Christmas zone. Despite the tyranny of the commercial Christmas crunch, I refuse to put up my new pre-lit tree until there’s a number 12 on the calendar.

I bought a new snow shovel last month (I haven’t owned one in years) just to stave off the inevitable. So far, so good! You know if I didn’t have my ice scraper in the front seat and a shovel in the garage, we would have been buried in six inches already. You're welcome, neighbors.

It's too early for me to put up a tree yet. I'm going to take my time and find a pretty living rosemary bush to decorate with teensy lights and little wooden toys.

Our temp here today was 52 degrees, not even cold enough for a coat. Of course, this is California.

Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 09:07 PM

I saw on the weather map that California was colder than Cleveland over the weekend. That's rare!

Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 09:09 PM

Jeez Lo, looks like you'll have nothing cutting that cold North wind off your house. Sounds like big heating bills.

Posted by: Captain Joe | November 27, 2006 09:10 PM

Ahh. It's great, Joe. Sounds like a freight train. I love it!

I don't even bother to try and heat the house. I just have two rooms we use with space heaters. The thermostat is set at 62.

It's pretty comfy in the living room. I also have a real fireplace if I want to use it. I'm not sure if I will yet. We'll see.

Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 09:15 PM

I should move there. I like it cold!

Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 09:21 PM

Although I'm not crazy about the idea of shoveling snow, or driving in it.

California's great because you can go to the beach and see snow all in the same day.

Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 09:23 PM

Yes, we were supposed to have snow down to 6,000 feet, falling to 4,000 by afternoon. Not sure if that happened in the mountains but it's cold here. Our new wood stove is wonderful. We have a nice fire going right now.

A couple of years ago, we had over 18" of snow in late November. It was beautiful, and I don't have to drive in it.

Posted by: CountryGal | November 27, 2006 09:27 PM

It snowed today and we're supposed to get more tonight. I'm hoping that makes it seem like the Christmas season. It's been to warm and sunny for me to take the early Christmas decorations seriously.

I like the new look here, by the way!

Posted by: stacey | November 27, 2006 09:27 PM

It's cold here, Nadine.

Come on up!

Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 27, 2006 09:28 PM

Yeah, I grew up in snow and ice and -40F in Northern Maine. Just a hint of ice here in Texas shuts down Dallas for a week.

Posted by: Anonymous | November 27, 2006 09:29 PM

I like the new look too, Stacey. Very clean and crisp.

Thank you, Loretta.

Actually we've got thunder and lightning going now. Sounds bad out there.

Posted by: Stacey | November 27, 2006 09:32 PM

Captain Joe-Nony. LOL

Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 09:32 PM

Capt, I read your comment wrong. I thought it said "annoy me" LHAT! Be careful what you ask for!

Posted by: Stacey | November 27, 2006 09:33 PM

Lightening? Stay away from the windows, Stacey. Trust me on that one.

Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 09:33 PM

I thought it said "annoy me"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stacey, I'm sure we do, and often!
Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 09:35 PM
I believe I'll do that, Nadine. In fact I think I'll shut the computer down until it passes. Son and I are going to watch The Shaggy DA. I haven't seen it in years.
Posted by: Stacey | November 27, 2006 09:35 PM
Well sure we do, Nadine. But Mom always told me to go with my strengths so there you go.
Posted by: Stacey | November 27, 2006 09:36 PM
Okay, I'm really going now. I may be back later but it's a school night so who knows.
Posted by: Stacey | November 27, 2006 09:37 PM
Well, I'm thinking about putting up a small tree this year, just because.
I've done it every year for 20. I've begged off the last 2.
I'm thinking about a small tree just for me this time.
I can't decide if I'm gonna put up the good ornaments that need to be put away or just buy some that I don't care about and drag them to the curb when it's all over.
Bitter sweet.
Posted by: Monica | November 27, 2006 09:37 PM
Half the fun is unwrapping the ornaments, Monica. If you're going to do it, do it all the way!
Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 09:45 PM
Labor of love, you guys. I'm only partially joking.
I love Christmas. So do my kids. It is a LOT of work, though.
I'm a procrastinator. While I do like deadlines, Christmas just seems to be coming around much to quickly these days. LOL
Posted by: Monica | November 27, 2006 09:46 PM
Every year my mother gets the grandkids a personalized ornament. She's been saving them for years for me. I haven't put up a tree for 6 years, so it will be really fun to go over and get all those ornaments. I think there are some for the older girls, too.
I don't even know what they look like.
The ornaments, not the girls.
Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 09:49 PM
Dang. I am NOT anonymous!
I'll have to get used to putting my name in there. I don't know why it won't remember me.
Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 09:51 PM
You are definitely right about that, Loretta.
The best part is looking and thinking about the ornaments before, during, and after they adorn the tree.
It's the best.
Posted by: Monica | November 27, 2006 09:52 PM
I've been browbeating the news papers and TV channels today about getting some more news today about the murder. These are the responses:
1. "Agreed-we're trying to get people to go on record and talk about him [JY]. They're afraid. Believe me we're working it hard."
2. "I appreciate your interest in the case but not your tone.
If I had answers to these questions, believe me, I would be sharing them in the paper."
3. "Thank you for writing. Unfortunately, investigators aren’t releasing any new information in this case at this time. I have received some information about the investigation, but it has been off the record. Unfortunately, that information cannot be released."
I guess I got a little rude with #2. #3 sounds interesting.
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 27, 2006 09:52 PM
"I appreciate your interest in the case but not your tone.
Shirley they jest, Joe. Your tone?!?
Thanks for keeping us posted. I do appreciate the effort.
Keep up the good work.
Posted by: Monica | November 27, 2006 09:56 PM
Good job, Joe!
We're watching MNF. It's snowing somewhere. LOL!
Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 27, 2006 09:56 PM
I told #2 to get off her fat, uh, arse and get the story.
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 27, 2006 10:02 PM
Heh @ Joe.
Posted by: Monica | November 27, 2006 10:03 PM
I remember the one journalist in Durham who followed the Peterson east case like a dog with a bone.
We need someone like that in Raleigh. I should remember his name, but I don't. I'll have to think about it.
Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 10:04 PM
Gentleman Joe, you didn't really say that, did you?
Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 27, 2006 10:06 PM
Ahh, yes, Tom Gasparoli. How could I forget. I had to cull my archives!
Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 10:09 PM
Well Captain, whatever gets the job done! We appreciate your efforts.
I'm off to see what I can find out.
Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 10:12 PM
I put up a tree every year. Some years it's a tabletop one, some years a full size-depends on my mood.
I am seriously considering a pre-lit one this year. I love the ornaments, hate the lights.
Good for you, Captain Joe!
Posted by: Abby | November 27, 2006 10:21 PM
Bob and I love to send out Christmas cards. The hardest part is picking them out. According to Bob, they must say Merry Christmas. And, they must be funny. While I agree with him whole heartedly, he's not much of a shopper and card selection is slim in this department. Once we find the *right* cards to send, he's a real trooper. And he's got the best penmanship (sp?) known to man.
I like that about him!
Posted by: Monica | November 27, 2006 10:30 PM
That's so sweet, Monica. I haven't sent cards out in awhile.
Posted by: Nadine | November 27, 2006 10:34 PM
I used to hand make all my Christmas cards. It took forever, but I bet some people didn't throw them away. At least not right away!
If I get enough cards, I string them along the doorway. One year we made a Christmas tree out of cards. We taped it to the wall. It turned out pretty cute.
Posted by: loretta | November 27, 2006 10:53 PM
Christmas? Wake me up when it's over. (just kidding, sorta)
We usually decorate a week before Christmas, but I think I'll get frisky and do it two weeks before this year.
I'll have to remind myself, whatever I drag out and put up, I'll be the one taking down and putting back away. Ugh.
Posted by: Val | November 27, 2006 10:55 PM
We usually have our trees up by now, but since we have no idea where we'll be living at Christmas, here or the new place (wherever THAT may be) we're sort of in limbo. I say if we don't know by the end of this week we're setting up!
Posted by: Stacey | November 27, 2006 11:31 PM
Good morning.
We had quite a large Christmas tree, but the lights on that thing were blinding. We now have a 3ft Christmas tree, which is just right. Not too much draping and not too much taking down. We can get away with one string of lights now.
We decorate 12 days before and take them down 12 days after. I'm superstitious about some silly things. LOL
If I didn't have my grandson at home, I wouldn't even bother. I find it all rather annoying at my age.
Posted by: Mgt | November 28, 2006 04:46 AM
Beautiful! I really like the new look here. IMO, the best one, so far. Not to mention the larger font for the over-forties gals (ehehe - biggerlettersplease, I mean, types).
Weather and Christmas: No snow here, never a white X'mas - we usually have hot days for Christmas (as in very hot, cause it is Summer here, duh).
Air-conditioning has been at full force for the last couple of weeks, and November has been warmer than usual. Yesterday we had the first "summer rain" (very strong rains during the afternoon, evening, for a short period of time) w/ floods all over the City.
We call it "Chuva de Verao", and for those who know a little bit about Brazilian music or Tom Jobim, that's what the song "Aguas de Marco" (March Waters?!?) is about: "...sao as Aguas de Marco fechando o verao, e a promessa de vida no seu coracao..." - the end of the summer rains and the beginning of a new cycle.
Heh, the new look around here got me inspired, dot dot dot.
Posted by: Anne | November 28, 2006 06:45 AM
Mmm, I like the new look, too. I can be far more discreet this way. LOL
Such glorious weather, Loretta. Would you mind sending some our way? Our best day was Sunday - we saw the sun for 5 minutes.
Posted by: Mgt | November 28, 2006 06:45 AM
Hi, Mgt.
Very excited about putting up a X'mas tree this year, you can imagine. I will even get new charms.
I am planning a Chanukiah (sp?), as well. Need to buy one, as I've never done it at home before - always thought it was good to light the candles with kids around.
Will set up everything closer to the dates, to avoid "destruction" by the sweet little bugger of mine.
Posted by: Anne | November 28, 2006 06:56 AM
Good day to you Anne. You must be so excited about Christmastime this year.
If I don't get to catch up with you again before Christmas, let me wish you all a very merry one.
Posted by: Mgt | November 28, 2006 08:36 AM
Okay! Now I can see why Michael Peterson killed his wife. He needed her insurance.
Thanks for the link, Barbara. That was really enlightening. I only knew of bits and pieces of that crime before this.
That was such a brutal, bloody murder. Poor woman.
Posted by: Mgt | November 28, 2006 09:19 AM
Hey, Mgt. Yes, that was a really interesting case; more interesting than the Peterson west case, really. There were potentially two murders (for sure, if you ask me) that were almost identical in MO.
I think Michael Peterson has a whole lot of skeletons in his closet that may never be revealed. He is a monster.
Kathleen Peterson was a wonderful woman. Both women Michael murdered (IMO) were fantastic people. He's such a cretin. He is getting what he deserves. Thank goodness, there is occasionally justice.
Posted by: loretta | November 28, 2006 09:25 AM
He sure is a vicious b*stard, loretta.
The Staircase was on BBC a year or two back. Unfortunately, it was on at half past midnight and I only managed to stay awake for bits and pieces.
I only heard a brief part of the 911 call, but it sounded to me as though he was scrubbing while talking to the operator, IMO
I wonder about the partnership between Ryan Schaad and Jason Young when they jointly owned the property on 5304 Arete Way. It looks like Schaad is involved in broadband communications (Wi-Fi). I wonder if Jason might also have been working with him previously at Windchannel Communications, in which Schaad has a position.
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 10:36 AM
Are you saying that Jason had/has money, Capt Joe?
Or do you think there is bad blood there. Like Jason being pushed out of the business. I'm not sure what you are getting at.
Posted by: Mgt | November 28, 2006 10:39 AM
I'm not quite sure. Is there some bad blood over the buyout of the property? What was the relationship between these two guys? They shared property. Did they share anything else?
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 10:48 AM
Okay! Now, I'm following your train of thought.
Obviously, things didn't work out between them or they would still be in business together. Kind of Brokeback Mountain?
Posted by: Mgt | November 28, 2006 10:52 AM
Speaking of bad blood, I wonder if Michelle ever got an aids test
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 10:52 AM
How did you find out about Ryan and Jason, Capt?
Surely, they would pick that up if she was pregnant, wouldn't they?
I'm not sure if they would do a manditory AIDs test on pregnant women, Mgt. They didn't when I was pregnant but that was over 20 years ago.
I'll have to ask my girlfriend who just found out she is with child after trying for 6 years. I bet she'd know.
Posted by: Monica | November 28, 2006 11:16 AM
Please do, Monica. I would be interested to see if they do that automatically these days.
If they are testing the blood, anyway, it makes sense.
Do remember what year they were married, Joe? I remember it was in October just not the year. I'll try to find it.
It would make sense that MY would be in the deed in Dec. of 2003 if that is the case.
Good morning!
It shows the last sale of the property on 12-11-02.
The name change was 12-17-03. I wonder if RS QC'd the property. Wouldn't you think there would be another sale showing if JY bought out his interest in the home?
Nebbermind, I just looked at it again and it does show QCD.
Posted by: Anonymous | November 28, 2006 12:31 PM
FYI, the AIDS test for pregnant women is purely optional these days. And in Michelle's case, she probably thought she was safe and declined the test, since "JY was a loving, faithful husband".
JMO
I have appreciated this blog since early Nov. when we were all hit with this terrible news. Thank you so much for all of the research and compilations....and please keep them coming. I don't even check the news sites anymore for my daily MY murder updates; I just come here. All of us in the neighborhood are so desperate for any new leads or info, so thank you for all you have provided. Hoping this gets resolved very very soon.
As I was putting up my Xmas tree this weekend with my children, I just kept thinking about Cassidy and how she must be wondering for the past month where her mommy is and why they aren't at home.... :(
Posted by: Enchanted Oaks Resident | November 28, 2006 01:15 PM
Oct 10 2003 is the correct wedding date.
Ryan & Jason co-owned the townhouse, were roommates, when Jason got married, the ownership changed over to Jason.
(Not weird to me that Michelle isn't on the deed or loan, I'm not on the one for my house. My husband bought it before we married.)
Also, not unusual to me that they decided to retain the townhouse and rent it out when they moved to a bigger house for their growing family.
Just my thoughts.. MOO! :-)
EOR
Any idea what the "machine" was that CCBI brought to the crime scene?
Posted by: Anonymous | November 28, 2006 01:21 PM
Fouier, MY is on the deed for both properties.
Posted by: Anonymous | November 28, 2006 01:25 PM
EOR
Any idea where Jason was employed prior to ChartOne? You don't have to tell us if he worked for CIA.
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 01:29 PM
Welcome, EO Resident and Fourier.
My girlfriend responded back and said that her OB/Gyn does an HIV test every year as part of her annual visit. She doesn't have any clue if they have tested her since she has become pregnant.
I'm very curious to find out what "machine" the CCBI brought in as well.
Posted by: Monica | November 28, 2006 01:32 PM
Yaeh, I imagine banks insist that at least one person on the deed be employed.
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 01:33 PM
I want to know if the media has been pounding the streets of your neighborhood looking for stories, EOR?
According to Joe's earlier post they have and haven't turned up any details.
I feel horribly for little Cassidy and Michelle's family. This will be a very difficult holiday season for them. It would be nice if the perp was arrested before Christmas so they could have a tiny bit of solace.
I also imagine your neighborhood is on edge until police arrest someone. I know they've said it wasn't a random murder and in all likelyhood it was JY, but I still don't think I would rest easy until and arrest was made.
Posted by: Monica | November 28, 2006 01:46 PM
I don't know about the machine. Maybe it was some sort of "trace evidence processing" equipment? I am new to this murder process (thank God) so I don't know what CCBI may have been doing with any machine.
I also don't know what JY did before ChartOne. I'd only just met Michelle at the neighborhood Halloween party 4 days earlier. She was incredibly nice, and went out of her way to stop and talk to me in the clubhouse. We sat there and got to know each other for a good 1/2 hour, talked about how she was due with a baby boy in March, how Cassie would be so great with a new baby at age 3, how her husband traveled often with work, etc.....and then 4 days later, she becomes the victim of this horrible crime.
I hope whoever did this is struggling with a torturous conscience right now.....
Posted by: Enchanted Oaks Resident | November 28, 2006 01:56 PM
Something else I find interesting. The mailing addy is the same as the property location on the property linked above. If it was a rental, don't you thing the mailing addy would be their current home on Birchleaf Dr.? Surely they wouldn't have the tax bill sent to the tenants.
Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 28, 2006 01:57 PM
Welcome EOR!
Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 28, 2006 01:59 PM
I have to say, I don't rest easy either. I'm not in that neighborhood, but when I'm home alone.. I get nervous! I mean what was the motive here? How do I know there doesn't exist the same reason to kill me?
Maybe that sounds dumb, but you guys know what I mean. When you are close to someone who is murdered.. your whole outlook is changed. It's not something that happens to people in your life. Sigh.
Posted by: fourier | November 28, 2006 02:00 PM
I hope whoever did this is struggling with a torturous conscience right now.....
I hope so too, EOR. The problem with that is sociopathic murderers rarely have any real conscience. I'm sorry that this brutal murder has taken place in what sounds to be an otherwise very lovely neighborhood.
I'm sure you are all starving for some answers more so than the rest of us.
Posted by: Monica | November 28, 2006 02:03 PM
Interesting point, Doe Eyes. Maybe they were renting to someone they knew. I don't know about that.
Posted by: fourier | November 28, 2006 02:03 PM
That could be, Fourier.
Could it be that RS was the tenant? Just wondering.
Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 28, 2006 02:08 PM
I don't think it sounds dumb at all, fourier.
I live in a very safe neighborhood with a husband and two loud dogs. But my friend/neighbor across the street is highly nervous when her dogs are spending the weekend at her fiance's place.
No place is completely safe as evidenced by this murder in Enchanted Oaks.
Posted by: Monica | November 28, 2006 02:09 PM
Does Eyes:
It's possible, I don't know.
I do know Ryan is married. The townhouse looks nicer than the house that Ryan owned outright. Still.. seems unlikely he rented a townhouse and rented out his house..? :-/
Monica, thanks for saying that. I don't feel alone in feeling that way.
Posted by: fourier | November 28, 2006 02:18 PM
That's true. I didn't know Ryan was married.
Thanks for clearing that up, fourier.
Welcome, by the way.
Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 28, 2006 02:23 PM
Before Chartone, I think JY was in pharmaceutical sales.
Posted by: Anonymous | November 28, 2006 02:40 PM
Enchanted Oaks Resident, it must have been surreal to hear about what happened so soon after meeting Michelle. It sounds like she was a sweet and vivacious person.
Fourier, it's not unusual or weird to have the feelings you do in light of what's happened.
Posted by: Nadine | November 28, 2006 02:53 PM
Here is the deal on Ryan Schaad and JY
1- Friend of Jason's from NC State
2- JY and RS bought townhome together 12/02
3- RS moves out and buys a small house 9/03
4- Michelle pregnant, so they get married 10/03 and MY moves into townhome w/JY(deed changed to MY / JY 12/03)
5- Young's bought the house in Enchanted Oakes 5/05 and are currently renting the townhome
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 03:28 PM
Thanks for the info RPD.
Interesting that she was pregnant before married. Only from the standpoint of maybe JY wasn't really ready to get married and felt obligated to rise to the occassion. He could have had some resentment towards Michelle because of it. I know my ex resented me under the same circumstances.
Of course I'm just speculating as there really isn't much else to do until more facts come out in the case.
Upon graduating from NC State with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000, Mr. Schaad worked in the International Network Management Center for MCI Telecommunications where his primary responsibilities included support and relationship building with foreign voice and data providers in Western Europe.
Yeah, I know RS was employed. Where was Jason employed at the time?
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 04:22 PM
Not sure about that. My friend who knows him said he is "not a rocket scientist"
One thing I would bet on....there is no "gay" drama going on here. I am told JY was quite a flirt and he possibly had several flings going. I was told yesterday that there may be a girl in Florida ? We'll see if this turns into another Scott Peterson case before it is over.
Interesting information, RPD.
Interesting info today. Too bad I have severe workusinterruptus.
Welcome to new posters! Let's hope they get this one wrapped up soon. LE has really kept a tight lid on this one. Good for the case, bad for us sleuths. Heh.
OK, if you don't know where he worked in 2002 or even last year, can you tell us if he finished his degree and in what area of study? Tell us anything that puts some meat on his bones. All I see here is a free loader living off his wife and friends and family. I'm just trying to get something to think about the guy. Is there a resume somewhere?
Posted by: Captain Joe | November 28, 2006 04:43 PM
I get the feeling that Michelle threw the bum out of HER house. Maybe he had a fling with someone else and she found out about it. Maybe that's why she wanted to have friends stay over after he left "on business".
Finally, a scimpy report from LE:
Per NC State Alumni listing, JY graduated in 1998........check WRAL-tv.com
UPDATE
Posted by: Anonymous | November 28, 2006 05:07 PM
JY was on the "6 year plan", as he was 24 when he graduated
Posted by: RPD | November 28, 2006 05:15 PM
In the video linked to the story ^^^ the reporter asks Sheriff Donnie Harrison if he has any suspects and his reply was "We haven't named any suspects yet."
One could read into that reply that they have a suspect and are waiting for the forensic evidence to come back.
Bingo, CountryGal.
Also there was this statement:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"If and when we make the arrest, we want a case that we can go to court and feel good about," he said.

"Per NC State Alumni listing, JY graduated in 1998........check WRAL-tv.com"
That listing may be wrong. There was a Jason Adam Young who graduated there in 1998, our subject is Jason Lynn Young.

Interesting post on Bonnie's Blog:
"November 27, 2006 at 8:18 am

There are several questions I have not heard answers for and they are listed below:
* What was Jason Young’s employment history
* Was Michelle the breadwinner
* Dog knew the person or would have awakened Michelle or little girl. Was he (dog) locked up and later released.
* Don’t buy neighbor kids. This is just a diverson
* Why did Jason visit is Baptist minister before date of crime, to show him bruises apparently given by Michelle
* Jason had time to return home after checking into motel. Were clues left in motel room of fibers from the scene
* Why after Jason has returned to the house have missed clues surfacing. Found by Jason?
* Insurance policy involved
* What about this girlfriend in FL he has
* I’m sorry but if my spouse had been murdered, I would be on the case every breath I had. Then, again, if I had been involved I would be doing just what Jason is doing-keeping quiet.
* Why isn’t the press hounding him day and night.
* Why isn’t the prime time people staking Jason’s parents home.

Anyone have the answers? "

Loretta, you're going to love this:

The longstanding advice to "sit up straight" has been turned on its head by a new study that suggests leaning back is a much better posture.

Long time no hear from. Welcome.

That's something I hadn't heard before. Interesting timing, to say the least.

Hi Astrologer! That's an interesting link on posture. Makes a lot of sense.

For some reason I can't get the video to play on the update above. Is anyone else having trouble?

Posted by: Doe Eyes | November 28, 2006 06:47 PM

Ha! No wonder my back never hurts. I am always leaning back unless I have to do something in the blog.

Then I have to sit up.

I used to get much more tired when I sat up for hours.

Posted by: loretta | November 28, 2006 07:21 PM

So JY was on the 6-year plan? He must have changed his major or taken fewer classes per semester rather than a full load.

It's not that unusual. Scott Peterson was on the 7-yr plan IIRC.

It's typical.

Posted by: loretta | November 28, 2006 07:24 PM

My youngest is on the 10 year plan but she's getting a doctorate. I think that isn't quite the same thing here.

Posted by: Barbara | November 28, 2006 07:27 PM

I hope Jason's Amber Frey turns states evidence and rats on him.

Posted by: Anonymous | November 28, 2006 08:46 PM

After seeing what happened to Amber F., I would be very careful if I were the GF.

Posted by: Barbara | November 28, 2006 09:02 PM

I was under the impression that the GF in FL was just a rumor.

LE said they y had gone to 3 other states.

VA, NY(?), any other guesses?
