Snowbound in Pleasantville
Last night we had a major blizzard that left us snowbound. I had to figure out how to manage the four foot drift that had settled in the middle of my driveway. With my new shovel that has only been used once this winter, I began to dig my way out.
The "before" picture here gives you an idea of how much snow was in the driveway and all the way up the steps.
No, I'm not a happy camper. This wicked wind was blowing north from the frozen lake and I had to keep switching gloves when my hands grew numb. Luckily, my ugly winter coat kept me warm and dry.
Looking at this as a material handling project, I surveyed the depth and weight of the iceburg.
Halfway done and I was running out of steam. I took a little smoke break and thawed out in the house. It was difficult going back out there, but in for a penny, in for a pound, eh? Besides, I still couldn't get my car past that major hump of snow.
Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Ahhh. Success. I had to soak in a hot bath to regain the feeling in my poor old bones. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea, because now I am in pain in places I haven't heard from in years.
Stay warm, everyone!

Oh my, I have no idea of what this is about. Never had to shovel (we don't have snow down here). Stay warm!

Dang, you did good! I'll bet you are very sore, though. You will probably really feel it tomorrow. Still you should feel a sense of accomplishment, and you have the photos to prove it!
Makes me feel like a wimp in comparison, I'll tell you that!
Fun entry! Stay warm, now.

Yes. Cleveland in a blizzard is no place for wimps. I sustained myself imagining someone would rescue me, but to no avail. ha!

OMGosh! How did you get the garage door open to even start?

Please understand I mean no disrespect when I say, "better you than me."
It is colder than...well...anything here, but, thank God, there's nothing to shovel.

We've had two days off in a row (which is UNHEARD of for our district) and tomorrow the students are on a two hour delay. Staff is reporting on time. Cabin fever and an emotional two days has me ready to get back to work and focus on "brain taxing" tasks, I can tell you that!

Heh, Heh. So much for the Global Warming moonbats, huh.

Loretta, that's a LOT of snow. What a mess!

Ha hahahaha. That pic of you hidden in the rear of your parka hood reminds me of a space alien. Precious.

Yes, but I was not too sore today at all. I must be in better condition than I thought.
No aches or pains. SuperWoman!

No aches the next day - I'm impressed all over again!
That was a boatload of snow to shovel.

Mokat! Kris! Nice to see you!

Nice to see you, too! Try to keep up in here as often as possible.
Still one of my fave spots on the net.

Good news for all who follow my ups and downs. I get to have William tomorrow. I won't get anything done that I planned but I don't care. We'll play MOTAS and other things and I'll laugh a lot. Here's to grandchildren :cheers!:

Good morning everyone.
Lo, from a Southerner's view, the pictures are beautiful. However, I can't imagine having to shovel that much snow. UGH! That should keep you in great physical shape!
Barbara, I know you will enjoy your day with William.
Just came across this article about MY's birthday.

A little good news from the bookselling front - I sold a rather astonishing 198 books in January. No doubt because of the "Jury" book that was promoted on Amazon.
Nevertheless, the first 1-star reviews from mutts before Amazon changed their criteria for writing reviews (you actually have to be a customer) are prominent in the site.
If any of you have not reviewed the book and have an Amazon account, I would really appreciate a few words of support to bump that crap down off the page.
Thank you very much.

Kris and Mokat both? Wow, it's been a long time! Good to see you both.

Great books sales, Loretta. Not bad at all!

Gee. Maybe I need to get a new Amazon account. I don't mind buying another copy. Will you autograph this one, too?

The Michelle Young case has taken a strange turn. Michelle was seeing a psychologist who specializes in transgender issues.

Court orders therapist to share information
In a court order, a Wake County Superior Court judge ordered murder victim Michelle Young's therapist to share what she knows with detectives.
The order was signed Feb. 16 by Superior Court Judge Donald Stephens after Stephens met with therapist Kimball Jane Sargent behind closed doors, according to court documents.
Sargent provided information relevant to Young's homicide, Stephens wrote, but did not elaborate on what information she may have.
Young, 29 and pregnant, was found Nov. 3 beaten to death in the master bedroom of Birchleaf Drive south of Raleigh. No arrests have been made, but in search warrants investigators with the sheriff's office have focused on her husband Jason Young.
Investigators believe the couple was experience financial problems and a substantial life insurance policy had been taken out on Michelle Young. The couple's 2-year-old daughter, who was found unharmed with her mother's body, has been staying with Jason Young's mother.

I found a possible porn site that the therapist MIGHT have contributed a video to. At least the name listed and the topic of the video seem to indicate that it is actually one contributed by her. I don't know who to give this to, The cops? or Jason's lawyer.

Captain, give it a rest.
"Part of her practice also involves contracts with companies where she provides counseling for employees through workplace programs. Michelle Young was a senior financial specialist at Progress Energy in Raleigh."

Kimball Sargent, the therapist, also has a child care location in Raleigh. Who was Cassidy's sitter?

This may be some inaccurate reporting by the Raleigh press. They are trying to give the impression that Sargent was on retainer by Progress Energy. MY may have met her at her baby sitters.
Posted by: Captain Joe | February 22, 2007 08:46 PM
Cap'n, can you find out about the sitter? You do have a tendency to run with the "may haves" without any backup, and that is a pretty big leam, IMO. There have to be hundreds of day cares in Raleigh.
Posted by: vero | February 22, 2007 09:00 PM
The therapist's day care center is near where MY worked, perhaps a mile away.
The therapist has another married name that she goes by. Jane Sargent-Trollinger/same address.

Captain who-joo: take a brake and get yourself more sober than Anna-nicole and her cohorts. You are always way off the bases that count.

Q of S
Lay off the Captain.
He has some weird takes on some situations, but he is a bulldog in the sleuthing department.
He was 100% correct in the Taylor Behl case.
We don't always agree with him, but we respect his abilities.

I am the king of Google and search engines. I found a bunch of other info on the therapist. She has several women physicians and a hair salon (the Devil's Haircut) as her referral sources.
