They say the destruction of the tapes was "unauthorized" but you know it was authorized. Hello? It's not the interrogation *methods* they were trying to hide - it was what was said during the interrogation.

All roads lead to Darth.

Iraq: Bush's Statements vs. Fatality Figures

Well, they couldn't very well hang on to those tapes....them being incriminating, and all...!

Who would be the one to explain the contents? Certainly not the cowards who perpetrated the torture. You can be certain of that.

Posted by: Mgt | January 17, 2008 12:06 PM

Those statistics are sickening, Loretta. My fear is that no one will pay for this atrocity.

Posted by: Mgt | January 17, 2008 12:09 PM

Hey, Mgt. Good to be here at the same time as you. I am on several mailing lists and get all sorts of interesting things. I'm sure I'm on a few *other* lists, too. haha

I got my first Big Brother traffic ticket the other day - one where a camera captures your speed. It was really "Brave New World" to me. What bothered me more than the idea of cameras capturing speed/traffic data that cannot be refuted even if it's in error, was the the price tag on the ticket.

Astronomical.

I guess that helps pay for the $250K cameras all over the city of Cleveland. Forget buying school supplies and paving the street. Let's spend all that money on cameras.

Don't even get me started.

Sometimes technology is bad and it's good to go back to old fashioned ways.

Posted by: loretta | January 17, 2008 09:38 PM

I think Bush is glad that the CIA has come under close scrutiny for the destroyed tapes issue. It's time that that renegade agency (read Commie) should take some heat for their stupid activities and for trying to ambush Bush. They did it to protect their own hides not Darth's hide.

Posted by: Captain Joe | January 18, 2008 12:13 AM

Captain, I hardly think that Bush is squeaky-clean on this one. Unfortunately, it is exactly the kind of thing his "immunity" protects him from, he thinks.

Oh man, Loretta. I got one of those in the mail, years ago, a huge photo of my car taken from behind. Luckily, you could see the back of the head very clearly. It wasn't me. My car was being repaired at the time. Ha, it was the garage guy. I got away with it.

In the UK, all traffic cameras have to be brightly painted with red and yellow stipes. They are not allowed to paint them grey. The idea being, that it has to be a deterrent, or it doesn't save lives.

Posted by: Mgt | January 18, 2008 04:12 AM

Can't wait until the Idiot in Chief and his sidekick Darth take their last walk out the doors of DC.

Joe, I suppose it doesn't bother you that our wounded soldiers were asked to pay the government back part of their signing bonuses after they can no longer get shot at over there? It's SHAMEFUL!!

Remember Jasmine? The child who was in chemo, and the reason I shaved my head?

She is in hospital with a fever of 104+, and nobody can explain it.

She had to go back for more chemo last week.

If you are a prayer, please pray for her.

Where on earth is that Capt. fella?

Posted by: Mgt | January 23, 2008 11:32 AM

Believe me, you don't want to know...

Posted by: vero | January 24, 2008 02:32 PM

Captain Joe here. That was a glitch in the system. The drive-by media (read commie) don't tell you that it was stopped as soon as someone in authority found out about it. Now that the war is coming under control, the drive-bys are having to invent perceived slights by Bush et al and drag up old, defunct issues to impeach Bush. Kook Kucinich must have been campaigning in Stephenville last week. Folks saw some UFO's there.

Real life has intruded, Mom of 5, and Loretta has been busy.

She has, however, promised a review (fisk) of Donna Thomas's book about Scott Peterson's supposed confession, and my breath has been baited (sic) so long that it's starting to smell...

Posted by: vero | January 27, 2008 12:18 PM

Yes, I have thrown that book across the room at least twice. I had it on the airplane reading it and had to stop a few times before I started to scream.

It was extremely painful to read.

I have written notes in the margins and am preparing a report.

Edwards quit today, but it's far from over. Hill's inevitablility is starting to smell like Rudy's.

Hey Everyone,

Here's a plug for the Obama campaign:

In January alone, more than 224,000 people have given to Barack Obama's campaign.

I'm one of them. In fact, I donated twice.

If we can reach 250,000 donors for January by midnight tonight, it will show the undeniable strength and incredible momentum of our grassroots movement.

Join me and make a donation now:

We can change the world.

Spare me!

Posted by: Captain Joe | January 31, 2008 08:06 PM

Ditto to Capt. Joe

Obama is not for me!

Posted by: Anonymous | January 31, 2008 08:59 PM

Not that it is any of my business....anyway, I'll throw it out there and see how much truth is behind it.

I've read that Obama's father is Muslim and so was his step-father. Somehow, it worries me that the most powerful country in the world might be ruled by a Muslim.

This, of course, may all be a load of rubbish. Does anyone know the truth?

This is rather sensitive so delete at will, Loretta.

Above, latest in the never ending Holloway case.

Posted by: loretta | February 1, 2008 06:03 PM

If we go far enough back, most of our Presidents have had a few skeletons. JFK's dad was a bootlegger, for heaven's sake.

Was Obama's father a Muslim or a Moslem? Muslim was (or is) an African American adaptation of Islam, introduced to improve the self-image of African Americans. It bears little or no relation to actual Islam which, in turn, has little in common with whatever the terrorists use for justification of their hate.

This was e-mailed to me...

Don't know what your political persuasion is, but this goes deeper than politics. This cuts to the very concepts of upon which this great nation of ours is founded. If this man is put into office, we will no doubt be destroyed.

Oprah needs to share all the facts while she is on the road with Obama......This is not a man for AMERICA and what we were founded on.....

Very interesting and something that should be considered in your choice. If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all your contacts...this is very scarey to think of what lies ahead of us here in our own United States...better heed this and pray about it and share it. We checked this out on 'snopes.com'. It is factual. Check for yourself.

Who is Barack Obama? Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas.

Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.

When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocate to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, 'He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.'

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical.

Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best.

In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world.

Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.

ALSO,keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran. Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegience nor will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy. The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level. through the President of the United States. One of their own!

Please forward to eveyone you know. Would you want this man leading our country ....... NOT ME!

This could be vital, especially since Oprah is coming out for him!!

Posted by: loretta | February 3, 2008 05:47 PM

As Dennis has officially dropped out, we must scramble among the remaining candidates. Obama is looking better by the minute.

Hillary is part of the political machine. Huckabee is a fundamentalist. Romney is a wuss. McCain is part of the machine. Ron Paul is pushing this populist thing too far, with his placards that look like some 3rd grader did them with a stencil. Disingenuous.

Posted by: vero | February 4, 2008 11:11 PM

Obama seems like the only candidate who will steer clear of corruption. The rest are old hands at fooling the public.
