McCain’s Bu**sh**
From an article on CNN today summarizing McCain's interview on FTN, the candidate vowed to appoint Democrats to his cabinet:
Speaking to CBS' "Face the Nation," the Republican presidential nominee vowed that he won't just have a single token Democrat in his Cabinet."
Is the “token Democrat” Joe Lieberman? Is he still a Democrat? Lieberman reminds me of the character, “Gollum” from Lord of the Rings: seemingly pathetic and innocuous at first only to become more dangerous and malevolent in his obsession. Think about it.
McCain continues:
"It's going to be the best people in America, the smartest people in America," McCain said. "So many of these problems we face -- for example, energy independence -- what's partisan about that?"
What’s partisan about energy independence? Well, apparently McCain didn’t bother to read the Republican Platform where it states that increasing the domestic supply of oil (Drill, Baby, Drill!) is a high priority in securing “independence,” despite the inadequacies of that plan and the void of real solutions to creating other sources of sustainable, ecologically responsible energy. The Republican’s energy platform mirrors the Bush administration’s lip service for the past seven years; in other words: bu**sh**.
He said he'll also ask some members of his Cabinet "to work for a dollar a year. They've made enough money."
Oh, sure. They’ll be lining up! If McCain is so philanthropic, he should offer to return to the government any of the retirement benefits (Social Security, Medicare, Veteran’s Disability payments) that he has received since turning 65 seven years ago. With his eleven houses and millionaire wife, he sure doesn’t need the money. Does this mean he’ll take the job as President (current annual salary $400,000 a year, to be paid monthly, and in addition an expense allowance of $50,000 to assist in defraying expenses relating to or resulting from the discharge of his official duties) for a buck a year? Let's see him offer that first. I'm calling his bluff.
"But I'll also ask people who have struggled out there in the trenches to help people, to volunteer in their communities, who understand these problems at that level, which obviously is lost on a lot of -- a lot -- a big segment of Washington."
It is lost on his proxies, too. McCain's conciliation is in stark contrast to the ridicule heaped upon Barack Obama by Christians like Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin. Yes, we will know they are Christians by their love and charity toward the poor and downtrodden. Rudy and McClown are such admirable Christians: unceremoniously dumping their wives for younger models, abandoning their families, committing adultery, being directly or indirectly responsible for murdering hundreds of people. Oh, yes, these guys are the models of Christian compassion. I can just see them spearheading community service projects in the Bronx and Harlem.
Oh, but McCain has an explanation for Palin’s snark:
McCain, in the CBS interview, said, "I admire and respect all public service," and that Palin shares those sentiments. He said Palin's remarks were a "reaction to the denigration of her role as mayor" of the small town of Wasilla, Alaska.
Really? How does that explain Rudy or any of his campaign spokespeople who continue to evoke Obama’s community service as the subject of derision?
More on his gushing admiration of Palin:
"She did the things that Americans want most. So in all due respect to any of the critics, what we want is the change in Washington. Who better in the political landscape could do that than Gov. Sarah Palin, whose whole life has been engaged in that -- taking them on and winning?"
Anyone who has been reading the ongoing saga of Palin’s record as mayor and governor know better. She is a Bush-League Control Freak, as vindictive and backstabbing as they come and with a social compass informed by fringe charismatic religious convictions just notch above snake handlers.
He added, "I'm sure that Gov. Palin has failings. And I'm sure she's made mistakes, because she's had a long career, from city council to mayor to governor. But the fact is, she's kind of what Americans have been looking for."
The only people looking for Palin were the Rove-directors of McCain’s organization who needed a wild card pick for the Vice Presidency whom they hoped would distract the public long enough for us to forget how miserable the past seven years have been and how our civil rights and privacy have been mowed down by an administration bent on imperialistic domination of energy resources and maintaining despotic power.
And they found her.
But unlike John McCain, our short-term memories are still intact. And, we have The Google!

"Troopergate" is hilarious. Molly McCann, Sarah Pit Bull's sister, was Wooten's 5th wife.
Since there is, what, a 2:1 ratio of men to women in Alaska, this is the best she could do?
The whole thing is like a bad Judge Judy show.

And the wolf hunting "bounty" just makes me sick to my stomach:

Does the McCain campaign have one.original.thought? They have been using the "change" meme like it was theirs.
Change?
Like Hillary said this morning, asking John McCain to fix Washington is like asking the iceberg to fix the Titanic.
Anony: yes, the shooting of wolves from airplanes and killing the pups dragged from their dens makes me sick. I have seen the pictures of the body count. Palin put a $150 bounty on their left front legs. Cheaper than paying airplane and heli fuel.

Okay, there is now a Palin expose Web site:
Another troubled kid?

Jeez, the polls say that people are actually being fooled by the pitbull. It just beggars belief!
Don't they realise they are still going to be stuck with McCain?

Mgt, believe it or not there are rumblings that extremists are praying for McCain's death so that Palin can become president.
He's gonna need a food taster.
